Jude Bellingham set a La Liga season benchmark in Real Madrid’s win over Athletic

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham’s exploits in the club’s latest outing have given rise to the most remarkable of statistics.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real were of course back in action late last night, in a La Liga meeting with Athletic Club.

When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline, owing to a brace on the part of Rodrygo.

Bellingham, meanwhile, despite being fresh off a pair of starts with England, featured from the off, seeing out the 90 minutes at the Santiago Bernabéu, too.

Not only that, but he laid on the assist for Rodrygo’s 2nd of the night, amid another fine display.

And, as alluded to above, his creative exploits against Athletic have since culminated in a head-turning statistic surrounding Bellingham’s season making its way online.

As per Opta, the 20-year-old – despite playing as a midfielder and being in his debut term in the colours of Real Madrid – is the first La Liga player to hit double digits for both goals and assists in 2023/24.
