Joaquín: “I want to take up bullfighting when I retire from football.”

Speaking to AS, Real Betis captain Joaquín Sánchez revealed he would like to take up bullfighting when he hangs up his boots.

“I want to take up bullfighting when I retire from football. I would like to do something beneficial for the bullfighting world. I signed up for the El Puerto bullfighting school when I was young and when my mother saw that it was getting serious, she told my father that football was better.”

The 38-year-old signed a new contract with Betis in December, which will see him through to the end of the 2020-21 season.
