Joaquín: “I want to take up bullfighting when I retire from football.”

Speaking to AS, Real Betis captain Joaquín Sánchez revealed he would like to take up bullfighting when he hangs up his boots.

I want to take up bullfighting when I retire from football. I would like to do something beneficial for the bullfighting world. I signed up for the El Puerto bullfighting school when I was young and when my mother saw that it was getting serious, she told my father that football was better.”

The 38-year-old signed a new contract with Betis in December, which will see him through to the end of the 2020-21 season.
