Barcelona player João Cancelo has provided an update on his well-being, on the back of the Blaugrana’s meeting with Porto.
Turning attentions towards matters on the continent, the Blaugrana welcomed Portuguese heavyweights Porto to Catalunya, eyeing a much-needed Champions League group stage win.
And, when all was said and done, march on to victory is precisely what Xavi’s troops managed.
Cancelo, meanwhile, proved himself the star of the show, notching a goal and an assist en route to Man of the Match honours.
In turn, it came as a source of concern for all associated with Barca when, inside the closing ten minutes, the Portuguese was hauled off, in evident discomfort.
With a crunch La Liga showdown with Atlético Madrid to come this weekend, fears over Cancelo’s availability therefore inevitably spread.
Such concerns, however, have this evening been quelled.
This comes with the on-loan Manchester City man having confirmed (via Fabrizio Romano) that his substitution came as little more than a precaution, with Cancelo confident that he will be fit and raring to go on Sunday night:
”My injury is not serious. I felt some pain but it should be all good to play vs Atléti.”
