Joan Laporta on Messi return: “We’ll see what happens, it’s something very complicated.”

Joan Laporta gave a quick a quick interview to Catalan radio channel Rac 1 during a trip to Colombia.

The Barcelona president is in the South American country to negotiate an agreement between the Barça Foundation and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

During the interview with Rac 1, Laporta was asked about the likelihood of Lionel Messi returning to the Nou Camp:

“I’ve been asked that question here in Colombia and many times on the street. I always say that Messi is of Barça and that people should be calm. He is the best player in the world and we have been lucky to have him at Barça. In the future we’ll see what happens. It’s something very complicated and he is a PSG player and I don’t want any problems with this club.”

Earlier this week it was communicated that PSG are keen to extend the Argentine’s contract as soon as possible to deter interest from his former club. However, the player has asked negotiations to be put on hold until at least after the World Cup.
