Jesús Navas: Pride and Resilience helped propel Sevilla through tough season

Jesús Navas spoke to the media following Sevilla’s 3-0 win against Granada on Sunday night.

As per Diario de Sevilla, when reflecting on a challenging year, Jesús Navas expressed pride in the team’s resilience, stating, “the year has been difficult, but the team has shown the pride that this shirt deserves.”

With Sevilla’s place in LaLiga next season mathematically secured, the club’s captain credited coach Quique Sánchez Flores for instilling the necessary calm attitude in his side, saying, “he is experienced and gave us the calmness to get wins that lifted us from the bottom.”

Navas, named MVP of Sunday’s match at 38 years of age, emphasized Sevilla’s determination to enjoy the remaining games: “We are playing better without the pressure we had, and now we are going to enjoy the remaining matches.”

In the wake of the comfortable 3-0 victory over Granada, Navas praised a spirited performance, attributing it to the team’s intensity and commitment to the club’s badge, stating, “we started very focused. The team did very well, and the fans deserve this victory in a very tough season.”

Despite the season’s trials and tribulations, Navas reiterated the Nervionenses’ commitment to pursuing points in the remaining matches for the fans and the club, declaring, “we will continue to go for the points that remain for the fans and for this badge.”
