Alarm bells sound at Barcelona as Vitor Roque’s agent takes aim at Xavi

The agent of Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has turned heads across Catalunya’s capital in the early hours of Monday.

This comes after Andre Cury made use of the opportunity to reveal his frustration with Barcelona head coach Xavi.

Cury, for his part, sat down for an interview with RAC1, over the weekend.

And, unsurprisingly, the subject of his client’s situation in Catalunya’s capital quickly emerged at the forefront of the conversation.

Vitor Roque, of course, is in the midst of an altogether difficult start to life in Barcelona colours, which sees the Brazilian sitting behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and João Félix in the attacking pecking order.

All told, the 19-year-old has in turn been afforded just two starts, since his January arrival in La Liga.

Amid widespread speculation pointing towards mounting frustration on Roque’s part with his situation at Barca, the frontman’s representative therefore sat down for an interview with the aforementioned RAC1.

And, safe to say, Andre Cury was in no mood to bite his tongue…

Taking firm aim at Xavi and his coaching staff for their treatment of his client, Cury explained:

“No one understands why he is not getting minutes. Xavi never spoke to him. This is wrong and I don’t understand this situation.

“He gave minutes to Fermin, Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal but not to Vitor Roque. I don’t understand why.

“Against PSG we needed to score, so why did Xavi not bring Vitor in? Many things have happened that I can’t explain.

“Xavi needs to help Vitor. When you play 300 minutes the whole season, it’s very difficult to gain confidence. The player needs to play and not only the last few minutes.”
