Vitor Roque’s agent admits he could leave Barcelona

The agent of Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has today dropped something of a bombshell on all associated with the club.

This comes by way of confirmation that, should his situation not soon improve, the Brazilian will be forced to seek out an exit.

Roque is of course in the thick of what has proven an altogether underwhelming start to life in Catalunya’s capital.

Since seeing his transfer from Athletico Paranaense brought forward by six months to the January transfer window, the 19-year-old has been afforded just 300 minutes of playing time.

Such woes have given rise to widespread speculation in the media, pointing towards Roque being in line for a loan spell away from Barcelona next season.

Speaking in an interview with RAC1 this weekend, however, the striker’s agent categorically ruled out the possibility of as much.

This comes with the reality of the situation of an altogether more concerning nature for the coaching and boardroom staff at Barca alike.

“The best thing is for Vitor to stay at Barcelona but if we can’t find a solution for him to play, we will work to go somewhere else,” Andre Cury explained.

“I’ve already spoken with Deco. The loan option is totally discarded.

“If Barça does not give Vitor a chance, we will have to talk to the club to find a solution… Sending him out on loan may harm him. His career could be in great danger if he is loaned out.

“If Vitor leaves, it will only be on a permanent transfer. He will not leave on loan.”
