Jan Oblak a doubt for Atlético Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano

Atlético Madrid host city rivals Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio Metropolitano tomorrow evening, with kick-off scheduled at 9pm local time.

There are concerns over whether Jan Oblak will be fit to play, report Mundo Deportivo. The Slovenian goalkeeper suffered a concussion during Los Colchoneros’ 1-0 win at San Mamés against Athletic Bilbao. He had to be substituted in the 69th minute after receiving a blow from Álex Berenguer.

His replacement Ivo Grbić made two crucial saves in the last 20 minutes of the game that prevented the Basque side from equalising and allowing Atlético Madrid to walk away with three points.

Simeone told journalists that Oblak didn’t remember what happened in the final moments of the match and he missed the team’s Sunday training session. It remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old will be deemed fit to play tomorrow. While the Argentine coach fully trusts Grbić, he would prefer Oblak to stand between the sticks.
