How many games Real Madrid expect Vinícius Jr. to miss

An insight into the early thoughts of those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Real Madrid when it comes to the incoming suspension facing attacking star Vinícius Jr. has been forthcoming online.

This of course comes after the Brazilian was shown a straight red card in Los Blancos’ most recent outing.

José Mourinho’s troops kicked their campaign back into gear following the international break on Saturday evening, ultimately putting Villarreal to the sword by a goal to nil.

One source of concern on an otherwise positive day’s work for Real, however, came on the personnel front… Shortly after being introduced off the bench, the aforementioned Vinícius Jr. was sent packing from the action.

After looking as though he had put the hosts two goals to the good, an ensuing VAR check revealed that the 26-year-old had deliberately pulled the hair of Nathan Saliba off the ball.

The goal was therefore ruled out, Vinícius sent for an early bath, and the occasion soured for those of a Blancos persuasion.

So, just how long is the out-of-form winger expected to be unavailable for selection to José Mourinho and his staff? As per a report from COPE, citing Real Madrid insiders Miguel Angel Diaz and Arancha Rodriguez:

‘At Real Madrid they believe Vinicius is going to get 3 matches (ban). With the appeals, they believe it will be reduced to 2 matches. They consider it lost that he will play El Clásico.’
