Gerard Piqué sends public message to Sergi Roberto after brilliant cameo & assist vs Napoli

Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué has taken to social media on Tuesday evening, to reveal his appreciation for former teammate Sergi Roberto.

This comes after the versatile midfielder played an absolutely pivotal role in guiding Barcelona into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Xavi and co. of course marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Italian champions Napoli to Catalunya’s capital for the 2nd leg of the Last-16 tie between the clubs.

When all was said and done, despite giving up a host of presentable opportunities at the back, the Blaugrana’s attacking flair ultimately proved enough to give rise to a 3-1 triumph.

As much came courtesy of goals on the part of all of Fermín López, João Cancelo, and Robert Lewandowski.

The latter, which proved critical in all but putting an end to the hopes of a dangerous Napoli outfit, may have been converted by frontman Lewandowski, but the credit, in truth, went to the aforementioned Sergi Roberto.

Introduced off the bench during the 2nd-half, midfielder Roberto enjoyed a stellar cameo, with his fine burst and assist to tee up Barca’s third having come as just reward.
