Gerard Moreno: “We know what it means for Villarreal to play in a final.”

Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno gave his thoughts to AS ahead of his team’s Europa League semi-final clash with Arsenal.

On reaching the semi-final

“It means a lot, it is an honour to reach a semi-final, I feel privileged to be here with my team-mates. We are very excited, we know we have a great rival, but we are looking forward to doing something great.”

Team spirit

“To be good individually, the collective is key, we are all important and without everyone’s help, it is very difficult. If the team is good, it is easier to do things better.”

Details the key

“I think there will be many factors that will be vital to the outcome. We will try to play a great match to put things in our favour. In the other playoffs, we played away first, now it changes, so we must focus on that. I think the small details are the key, we must be very focused on all the details.”

Arsenal

“We expect to face a team at their best, they have great players and a great team. They know what’s at stake, so we should expect a great Arsenal. These are matches of a very high level, and therefore we know we must be at our best in both legs.”
