Gennaro Gattuso: “Maradona missed penalties and so have the best players.”

Last night Valencia drew 0-0 with Sevilla in the 10th round of La Liga.

In his post-match interview that appeared on Marca, Gennaro Gattuso reviewed Los Che’s performance:

“The draw is a correct result, in the first half we played very well. In the second half Sevilla were very good, we had little movement and we were very scared. Then we missed the penalty. Maradona missed penalties and so have the best players in the world. Gayá missed it, it’s fine.”

The Italian coach argued that it was difficult playing in front of Sevilla’s fans:

“You have to control the game and my team has that ability. But it’s not a physical issue as we ran more. When you play here in La Liga it’s difficult, the fans press a lot and Sevilla’s quality is also noticeable.”

“We have a young team and this helps us gain experience. We lacked the ability to read the game,” he added.
