David de Gea’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain

It is yet to be seen whether David de Gea will be playing at Manchester United next season or not, report Mundo Deportivo.

The 31-year-old, who joined The Red Devils from Atlético Madrid in 2011, is contracted with the club until June 2023 and there are no signs of any renewal talks taking place.

It is believed that up to 12 players’ contracts are expiring at Old Trafford come the end of the season, including the Spanish international’s deal.

In an interview, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag left the door open for De Gea’s possible departure next summer:

“We haven’t made a decision. We are very happy with De Gea, both professionally and personally. It’s true that his first two games this season were perhaps not his best, but he is in great form right now. However, first we are going to face the winter market and then we will see what we do after that.”
