Gareth Bale will not start in Wales-Belgium clash

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale will not start when Wales face Belgium in Cardiff for their final World Cup Group E qualifying match.

Bale started against Belarus at the weekend in what was his 100th cap for his country but is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

If Bale, who has only played three times for Madrid this season, is to feature against Belgium, it will be as a substitute. He completed training on his own on Monday.

“He was never going to start against Belgium and we knew that coming into camp,” said Wales manager Rob Page.

“He’s done his own recovery and we’ll leave it to the last minute to see if he can any play minutes,” Page added.
