Former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba has officially joined Getafe on a loan deal from RB Leipzig.
Getafe will cover his entire salary and after weeks of negotiations, the Spanish side have finally got their man. A breakthrough in negations was found this morning after some difficulties in recent discussions.
Moriba, who has also played for Valencia, was called up by Guinea for the Africa Cup of Nations and will therefore be unavailable for at least a few weeks. The 20-year-old will move to Getafe until the end of the season, at which point both teams will sit down again to discuss the future of the player.
The midfielder, who joined Leipzig in 2021 from the Catalan club, was loaned out for two seasons to Valencia until the end of the 2022-23 season. Furthermore, the player has yet to make an appearance for the Bundesliga side this season.
