Florentino Pérez quizzed on Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé pursuit after Super Cup win

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez was this evening asked for a fresh insight into the club’s long-standing pursuit of Kylian Mbappé.

Real, of course, are fresh off securing the club’s first silverware of the campaign.

After travelling to Riyadh for the finale of the Supercopa de España, Los Blancos made short work of arch rivals Barcelona.

Vinícius Jr. proved himself the star of the show, notching a hat-trick, with attacking partner in crime Rodrygo having also been on target to round out a dominant display.

And yet, as alluded to above, post-match, it was the name of of another explosive frontman which took its place centre stage in the media chatter.

The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.

It is of course common knowledge that Real remain keen on bringing Paris Saint-Germain talisman Mbappé to Madrid this summer, ahead of the expiration of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

Put to Florentino Pérez on Sunday night, though, the Blancos patron was keen to play the subject down, instead shifting focus to those fresh off securing the club’s latest trophy:

“Really, it’s not the day to talk about this (Mbappé). Real Madrid fans are watching their players.”
