Supporters of Barcelona have taken to social media in their numbers this evening, to make clear their feelings with head coach Xavi Hernández.
Barca, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.
Going in search of their first silverware of the campaign, the Blaugrana faced off with arch rivals Real Madrid, for the Supercopa de España title.
When all was said and done, however, to say that such efforts did not go according to plan would be putting it lightly.
Utterly outclassed by their Clásico counterparts, the Catalans found themselves on the receiving end of a 4-1 drubbing.
Vinícius Jr. proved himself the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick, with Rodrygo having added some gloss to the scoreline late on after Robert Lewandowski provided Barca with a lifeline late in the first-half.
On the back of a night to forget for all associated with the club, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of the Blaugrana faithful being up in arms online.
And whilst a number of the club’s stars have been singled out for blame, none have been more widely targeted than head coach Xavi.
Amid what has proven an underwhelming campaign on all fronts to date, many evidently consider tonight’s showing to be the final straw, calling for the club’s one-time midfield icon to be moved on with immediate effect:
