Erling Haaland’s Real Madrid dream reiterated after Barcelona meeting

An insight into the future plans of Barcelona-linked Manchester City star Erling Haaland has been provided on Thursday.

The name of Norwegian hitman Haaland has of course taken its place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after Rafaela Pimenta and Maxwell – the 23-year-old’s representatives – were spotted holding a meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco.

During the sit down, held in a restaurant in Catalunya, the subject of Haaland’s long-term plans in England are understood to have marked a central topic of discussion.

As much comes with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, despite the club’s ongoing financial woes, having identified the frontman as his ‘dream’ Blaugrana signing.

Amid fresh speculation surrounding the long-term prospects of one of world football’s standout players, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of clarification of his mindset, as things stand, being provided.

Unfortunately for leading suitors Barcelona, however, the news does not at all favour them.

In fact, the latest word on Haaland’s plans will come as nothing short of a shot to the heart of all associated with the Blaugrana.

This comes amid confirmation that the former Borussia Dortmund standout has his sights set firmly on a future move to none other than Real Madrid.

As much was confirmed by Manchester City insider Sam Lee, during an appearance on The Athletic Football Podcast on Thursday:

“I think everybody knows Haaland wants to play for Real Madrid. And I don’t think that’s ever really gonna go away. But what City can do is keep making it an environment where they wanna stay and play football and obviously earn lots of money.”
