An insight into growing tensions between Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti, and defensive star Nacho, has come to the fore this afternoon.
The info comes courtesy of The Athletic, who point towards the latter as becoming increasingly concerned by a perceived lack of confidence in his abilities on the part of his manager.
Nacho has been ‘frustrated’ by his repeated substitutions of late – hooked at half-time against Almería, and then during the 2nd-half en route to Real’s downing of Sevilla at the weekend.
As much has been taken by the veteran defender as an indication that his teammates are more trusted by boss Ancelotti in important moments.
Nacho, all told, stands as Los Blancos’ 2nd-most used central defender to this point in the campaign, owing in large part to the long-term injuries suffered by both Éder Militão and David Alaba.
But he remains less than satisfied, giving rise to the 34-year-old’s relationship with Ancelotti becoming ‘a little strained’.
After the 34-year-old – named club captain prior to the season getting underway – came close to departing Spain’s capital owing to a lack of playing time last year, a long-touted parting of ways between Nacho and Real Madrid, in turn, could well be on the cards this coming summer.
