The sides will play in their respective Champions League groups before the October date. On Tuesday 11 October, Madrid will come up against Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland. Barcelona will welcome Inter Milan to Camp Nou on Wednesday 12 October in the tricky Group C. The Catalans have picked up three points from a possible six thus far.
Madrid are currently top La Liga on 18 points, having won all six of their opening games, while Xavi’s Barcelona are in second place on 16 points.
