The squad of players called upon by the Barcelona coaching staff for the club’s 2nd outing of the season has been unveiled online. And it features a pair of altogether noteworthy inclusions…
Hansi Flick’s troops are of course primed to return to action later this evening. After making short work of Elche in their season opener last weekend, the Blaugrana have been pencilled in for their first home outing of the campaign, against Athletic Club.
In the buildup to the clash, much of the chatter has surrounded the squad of players set to be at the disposal of Flick and his staff for the evening.
Last time out, both summer signing Rodri and the transfer-linked Alejandro Balde were left to watch on from home. Gavi was then forced into a premature departure from proceedings against Elche, owing to a knee problem.
And as confirmed courtesy of Barcelona’s official squad announcement on Thursday, the midfield starlet has in turn not been risked to face Athletic.
Both Rodri and Balde, on the other hand, have been afforded call-ups, with the reigning Spanish champions’ matchday call-up showcased in full below:
