Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho was quick to reveal his appreciation for the efforts of star frontman Kylian Mbappé in his side’s latest outing. This of course comes fresh off an outing to remember for the Frenchman on Wednesday…
Real Madrid were back in action yesterday evening, welcoming Real Sociedad to Spain’s capital for the club’s first home fixture of the new campaign. When all was said and done, Los Blancos maintained their perfect start to the term, courtesy of an eventual 4-1 triumph.
And it was the aforementioned Mbappé who proved himself the star of the show…
After coming under fire for his profligacy in front of goal on opening day against Espanyol, the former AS Monaco man found his shooting boots on Wednesday, to the tune of a hat-trick.
Mbappé produced an array of fine finishes over the course of the 90 minutes, to highlight a stellar all-round performance.
And as alluded to above, quick to lavish praise on the 27-year-old post-match was none other than José Mourinho. Drawn on the display conjured up by his attacking standout against Sociedad, Real Madrid’s new headmaster admitted:
“I always focus on the team over individuals but what Mbappé did was insane! What a player.”
