César Azpilicueta tests negative and travels to Madrid with Chelsea

Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta has recovered from coronavirus after testing negative and will be on the plane with the rest of his Chelsea team-mates who travel to Spain for their Champions League quarter-final second leg, according to Goal.

Romelu Lukaku, who missed the Southampton game through injury, has not recovered in time for the clash.

Azpilicueta’s presence in the second leg is beyond doubt, but the question is where will Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel play him.

In the first leg defeat in London, he played at left-back, but his change of position meant he struggled in other areas of the pitch. For the second leg, he could be deployed at right centre-back, replacing Andreas Christensen, who struggled with Vinicius at Stamford Bridge.
