Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Wednesday night, Casemiro made it clear that he would rather head for the Europa League than to exit Europe.

“If we can’t continue in the Champions League, I want to continue playing. But, we’re only thinking about winning tomorrow and going through. Of course, there are lots of possibilities. If we’re third we want to win the Europa League. We wouldn’t be happy, of course.”

Madrid have had a very shaky start to the 2020/21 campaign, both domestically and in Europe. Zinedine Zidane’s men have only managed to win in one of the six games this season without Casemiro in the starting eleven.
