Carlo Ancelotti speaks out on Real Madrid’s plans for Arda Güler

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this afternoon provided a fresh insight into his plans to introduce Arda Güler into a more regular role in his XI.

The subject of Güler’s situation in Madrid has of course dominated the headlines in Spain for some time now.

This comes amid increasing frustration on the part of both the player himself, and Real’s fanbase, with the lack of playing time being afforded to the Turkish talent.

The early months of the campaign saw Güler unavailable to boss Ancelotti, owing to a lengthy string of injury setbacks.

Despite having now been back fit for over a month now, though, he has nevertheless been handed just a trio of appearances, for a grand total of around 80 minutes.

In turn, murmurs had even begun to mount in the media, that Güler could be farmed out on loan for the 2nd half of the term.

Speaking in a press conference on Wednesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his gifted young midfielder’s place in his squad was put to the aforementioned Ancelotti once more.

And the Italian made use of the opportunity to plead for patience, adamant that Güler will soon be afforded a consistent opportunity to showcase his abilities.

“Arda Güler is progressing well, every day he is physically better, getting used to the intensity of this football,” Ancelotti began.

“Now he is fine and will have minutes. But, as I said, you have to be patient with him. I understand that there is a lot of pressure on him, because an entire country, Turkey, wants to see him play for Real Madrid, but the boy is 18 years old. His time will come.”
