Fresh Barcelona blow as early Ferran Torres injury update provided

An insight into the apparent extent of the injury suffered by Barcelona star Ferran Torres has come to the fore late this evening.

This comes after the Spaniard was forced into a premature departure from Barca’s latest outing.

Xavi’s troops are of course currently locked in action, having welcomed Osasuna to Catalunya for a La Liga clash.

As things stand late in the first-half on Wednesday, the two sides remain deadlocked, amid what has proven something of a cagey affair to date.

And yet, as alluded to above, the current scoreline may well represent the least of the worries of those of a Barcelona persuasion.

This comes after the evening’s hosts were dealt yet another blow on the personnel front.

Inside the opening five minutes of action, Ferran Torres went to ground clutching his hamstring.

After being tended to by Barcelona’s medical staff, it was quickly decided that the former Manchester City man was in no fit state to continue, with Torres having subsequently limped from the field of play in a flood of tears.

So, ahead of a likely incoming spell on the sidelines, just how long is the 23-year-old set to be unavailable for selection?

As per an early report from Diario AS, Torres is line for a minimum of around a month on the treatment table.

The versatile attacker joins all of João Félix, Raphinha, Sergi Roberto, Gavi, Marcos Alonso, Alejandro Balde, Iñigo Martínez and Marc-André ter Stegen on the list of injured stars in Xavi’s squad at present.
