Carlo Ancelotti provides final Eduardo Camavinga injury update before Athletic clash

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has today provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Eduardo Camavinga.

As much, of course, comes after the 21-year-old set pulses racing in Madrid earlier this week.

Afforded a starting berth in France’s friendly meeting with Chile, Camavinga lasted less than 45 minutes, before pulling up with a fitness issue.

Quickly hauled off by Didier Deschamps, it was subsequently revealed that the youngster had suffered a minor ankle sprain.

Camavinga was spotted back in training at Valdebebas on Friday, but doubts surrounding his readiness to contribute for Real Madrid against Athletic Club on Sunday night have nevertheless remained.

Speaking in a press conference this afternoon, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

And the Italian tactician appeared to confirm that Camavinga will indeed be at his disposal in a little over 24 hours’ time, in responding:

“Eduardo Camavinga picked up a knock during the break but he trained fine with the team.”
