Cádiz have the worst start in the history to La Liga

Cádiz become the team with the worst start to La Liga in the competition’s history, note Marca.

The Andalucían side find themselves at the bottom of La Liga, having lost their first five games of the season without scoring a single goal in the process.

They lost successively against Real Sociedad (0-1), Osasuna (2-0), Athletic Bilbao (0-4), Celta Vigo (3-0) and Barcelona (0-4). With their -14 goal difference and having not gained a single point, they become the side with the worst start in La Liga history.

With their current performance, they have surpassed the likes of Racing Santander from the 1928-29 season, who failed record a win and scored two goals and conceded 15, as well as the Extremadura side in the 1996-97 season that had zero points after five games, all the while having a -13 goal difference.

Cádiz will travel to the Estadio José Zorrilla to face Valladolid next Friday and they will hope to score their first goal of the season and come back to the South coast of Spain with at least a point.
