Barcelona youngster agrees contract extension ahead of pre-season role under Flick

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday tied another of the club’s most highly-regarded young talents down to fresh terms.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.

The name of midfielder Casadó will of course be a familiar one to those of a Barcelona persuasion.

This comes with the 20-year-old having been a regular feature in the club’s first-team ranks under the watch of Xavi over the last two seasons.

The captain of Rafa Márquez’s high-flying Barcelona Atlètic outfit, Casadó managed four appearances at senior level in 2023/24, two in La Liga, and two in the Champions League.

Recent days have pointed towards the Spaniard being held in high regard by incoming Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, too, in line for a place in the German’s pre-season squad this summer as a result.

And, as alluded to above, this week, Casadó’s long-term excellence has seen the youngster rewarded.

Just 24 hours on from fellow Barca starlet Héctor Fort putting pen to paper on a new deal in Catalunya’s capital, Casadó has agreed to do the same.

As per the aforementioned MD:

‘The Barça Atlètic captain will renew his contract for three more years, until 2027.’
