France boss Deschamps provides injury update on Real Madrid star Tchouaméni

France national team head coach Didier Deschamps has on Wednesday provided an update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni.

As much, of course, comes with the midfielder in the midst of a spell on the sidelines through injury.

After suffering a fracture in his foot during the 2nd leg of Real’s Champions League semi-final tie with Bayern Munich earlier this month, Tchouaméni has remained on the treatment table since.

The widespread understanding is that the former Monaco man, as a result, has been ruled out of this Saturday’s Champions League final, when Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will lock horns with Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Tchouaméni, though, has little time to sit around feeling sorry for himself.

This comes with the 24-year-old having been afforded a place in France’s squad for the upcoming European Championships.

And, as alluded to above, earlier today, an insight into the all-action midfielder’s current fitness levels was provided.

Speaking in his latest press conference, the aforementioned Didier Deschamps revealed that he is not at all concerned when it comes to Tchouaméni’s availability for Euro 2024, with the Real Madrid star, evidently, making good progress in his recovery:

“Tchouaméni? I’m not worried. The deadline is too short for the Champions League final but for the Euros, it’s more than doable.”
