Barcelona starlet confirms ‘my renewal is about to be finalised’

An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this weekend confirmed that he is all set to put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.

The player in question? Marc Casadó.

Midfielder Casadó, for his part, has seen his name take its place front and centre in the media chatter in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the 20-year-old’s name is being pushed by those behind the scenes in Barcelona, to play a prominent role in the setup of new head coach Hansi Flick.

Amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Blaugrana captain Sergi Roberto, Casadó has been tipped to make the step up to first-team regular next season.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that the Camp Nou brass are on the verge of securing the future of the all-action La Masia product.

Speaking after playing his part in Barca Atlètic’s playoff semi-final downing of Ibiza on Saturday night, Casadó was asked for the latest on his future.

And the youngster went on to confirm that:

“My renewal is about to be finalized, we’re sorting out the final details. We think that the best thing for me is to continue wearing the Barcelona shirt for a long time.”
