The powers that be at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this weekend been made aware of the price-tag attached to an alleged summer target, currently plying his trade in the Premier League, with Chelsea.
The player in question? Conor Gallagher.
For those not aware, recent days have seen it rumoured that England international Gallagher has been added to the shortlist of names in the sights of the Atlético brass, with a view to next season.
Diego Simeone is desperate for fresh blood in the middle of the park, with a whole host of midfielders, in turn, having been tipped to make the move to Spain’s capital.
The latest comes in the form of Chelsea’s all-action engine room star, who played a central role under the watch of Mauricio Pochettino in west London this past season.
Gallagher, all told, racked up 50 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with a solid seven goals and nine assists along the way.
Such production, added to the 24-year-old’s all-action stylings, have firmly piqued the attentions of Simeone and co.
However, if Atlético have any real intention of bringing Gallagher in this summer, they will need to pay up.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea have laid out their demands for the Englishman, coming in at almost €60 million.
As much all but rules out any potential move to the Wanda Metropolitano.
