The powers that be at Barcelona have this week been credited with an interest in a 2nd member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Valencia.
The player in question? Pepelu.
Recent days have of course seen the name of Valencia standout Javi Guerra take its place front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona.
As much comes amid the widespread understanding that the 21-year-old has been earmarked as a leading target on the part of Deco and the Blaugrana brass.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Guerra is far from the only Los Che star on the Catalan giants’ radar.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, so too is Pepelu.
Spaniard Pepelu is for his part fresh off a fine campaign at the Mestalla, across which he racked up eight goals from his berth at the base of Rubén Baraja’s midfield.
The 25-year-old, in turn, is viewed as a more-than-qualified backup target, in the case of Barcelona’s efforts to land Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich coming up short.
