Photo: Real Madrid’s ‘lucky charm’ has joined Carlo Ancelotti’s squad on trip for UCL final

A highly-regarded member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has joined the club’s first-team squad for their trip to London, for the Champions League final.

As much was confirmed by way of the latest social media activity on the part of Blancos star Dani Ceballos.

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, on Thursday, departed Spain’s capital, to make the flight to London.

This, of course, comes ahead of Saturday night’s Champions League finale showdown with German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund.

Though Real will head into proceedings as heavy favourites to emerge triumphant, the La Liga champions will no doubt be eager to secure for themselves as many advantages as possible in the buildup to kick-off at Wembley.

And one such advantage, as alluded to above, could well come in the form of the club’s lucky charm. – Jeremy de León.

The name of attacker De León has positioned itself front and centre in the media chatter in Spain’s capital over the course of the last couple of months.

This comes after the January arrival was afforded a spot on the plane for Real’s Champions League trips to both Manchester, and Munich.

De León, for his part, is not even eligible to take to the pitch in European competition this season, but, when drawn on his sudden emergence during a recent press conference, Carlo Ancelotti was adamant that the 20-year-old has earned his place:

“I spoke with Raúl. He told me that he is serious, hardworking and with a lot of quality.”

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear that, ahead of Saturday’s showpiece, De León, once more, has linked up with Ancelotti’s ranks.
