Barcelona: Ins, outs and possible XI for 2022-23 season

Barcelona have added depth and quality to their squad for the 2022-23 season. The Blaugrana have spent the most money in La Liga this summer despite their well-documented financial issues.

Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou and could join the club before the window closes.

The Catalan outfit are also eyeing Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, who is said to be open to joining the club. For the Portuguese playmaker to join the club, Frenkie de Jong would have to leave.

Ins: Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ousmane Dembélé, Sergi Roberto, Jules Koundé, Franck Kessié, Andreas Christensen.

Outs: Philippe Coutinho, Francisco Trincão, Moussa Wague, Óscar Mingueza, Riqui Puig, Rey Manaj, Dani Alves, Clément Lenglet, Adama Traoré, Luuk de Jong, Neto.

Mateu Alemany continues to reduce the club’s wage bill by selling or loaning out Xavi’s out of favour players.

Of the five players who were not called up to travel with the team on the US tour, only Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite remain, the two most complicated cases to resolve.

Players returning from loan spells: Miralem Pjanic, Iñaki Peña, Álex Collado.

Possible starting XI in 2022-23:

Marc-André ter Stegen – Ronald Araújo, Jules Koundé, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba – Sergio Busquets, Pedri, Gavi – Ousmane Dembélé, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha.
