Mundo Deportivo report that Frenkie de Jong would be open to a move to Chelsea.
The player’s priority has always been to remain at Barcelona. Despite this, within the dressing room the midfielder has already acknowledged that in the event of having to leave, Chelsea would be a good option.
The Dutchman admitted to some of his team-mates that he will not accept a move to Manchester United, but that Chelsea is a top team, playing in the Champions League and with which he could fight for titles.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that United are still trying to convince the Dutchman, but that Chelsea will enter the race provided that they have the green light from De Jong himself to leave Barcelona.
Chelsea are willing to make an offer that will satisfy Barça and even, according to Ornstein, take on the salary debt that the Catalan club have with De Jong.
