Barcelona in talks for Villarreal defender Juan Foyth

AS report that Villarreal are waiting to see what happens with Juan Foyth, after learning that the player’s agent has met with Barcelona. The meeting did not lead to an offer from the Catalan club, although it is still early in the talks between the parties.

According to Jijantes’ Twitter channel, Claudio Curti, Foyth’s agent, met with Mateu Alemany, Barça’s director of football, at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despí on Tuesday. The Argentinian, who holds a Spanish passport, is one of the club’s targets for the right-back position.

Villarreal know that Foyth (24) is a key player for the club and they do not want him to leave this summer. In the event of any kind of offer for the Argentina international, Villarreal will point to his €42 million release clause. Barcelona either pay the clause or Villarreal will say no to anything less for the former Tottenham Hotspur player.
