An insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona for on-loan winger Ansu Fati has been provided on Wednesday.
And the news will no doubt mark a source of concern for all those of a Barca persuasion hopeful of seeing the youngster return to base in Catalunya’s capital with a view to next season.
As revealed by Spanish outlet Diario Sport, as much, as things stand, appears to have been all but ruled out.
In a report detailing the hopes of the Blaugrana brass of keeping hold of João Félix beyond the summer, it is stated outright that:
‘Ansu Fati will not return’.
Little further insight into the situation is forthcoming, with it currently unclear whether the intention is to farm Ansu out on another loan, or cut their losses on a player whose injury problems are becoming an increasing source of concern.
Whatever the case, the Spanish international looks unlikely to be part of the first-team setup at Barcelona for the 2024/25 campaign.
