Barcelona’s board are close to arriving at an agreement that will see Alejandro Balde renew his contract with the club, report Sport.
The 19-year-old has established himself as a regular starter at the Blaugrana and the club’s management are keen to renew his contract. Balde has expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona and feels a part of Xavi’s long-term project with the side.
The Spain youth international’s contract with Barça is valid until June 2024, but the Catalan outfit are keen to extend it until the summer of 2027.
According to the new agreement, Balde would continue to have a €500m release clause, as well as have earnings similar to the ones of Ronald Araújo and Gavi.
The player’s agent Jorge Mendes and the club are planning to close the deal before the end of the year and the details will depend on whether or not Balde is called up to Spain’s World Cup squad tomorrow.
At the end of last month it was communicated that several Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing the 19-year-old from Els Culers.
