Barcelona boost as Gavi injury update surfaces

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Gavi has come to the fore on Tuesday evening.

And the news will no doubt come as music to the ears of Barca supporters the world over.

Gavi, for his part, has of course been sidelined since November of last year, after suffering a ruptured ACL in his right knee during an appearance for the Spanish national team.

He has since been forced to watch on from the sidelines as Xavi’s squad, all too often, have toiled, a no doubt painful experience for a player who has long made clear his undying love for the Blaugrana.

Turning attentions towards Gavi’s efforts to mark his return to the pitch, though, things, it would appear, are progressing in the most ideal fashion possible.

As much has tonight been confirmed by Diario Sport, who report that:

‘Gavi has already finished the first phase of the recovery process and the sensations could not be better.’

As the 19-year-old’s spell on the sidelines reaches the 100-day mark, no setbacks have as of yet been noted.

Gavi, as a result, will imminently push forward into the 2nd stage of his recovery, one noted as ‘the most delicate and dangerous of the process’.

Amid the constant threat of inflammation and flare-ups of pain, the midfield prodigy’s return to the grass will be observed carefully by the Barcelona medical staff over the coming weeks and months.

Should all go according to plan, though, the plan is for Gavi to link back up with his teammates in pre-season training in Catalunya’s capital ‘between the second and third week of July’.
