Aurélien Tchouaméni has confirmed in his Real Madrid presentation that Madrid had always been his priority and that Kylian Mbappé tried to ‘sign’ him for PSG.
“Kylian [Mbappé] decided to stay at PSG and he already knew I was leaving Monaco and wanted to know if I could go to PSG, but I told him I wanted Real Madrid and he understood perfectly,” Tchouaméni said in words transcribed by Marca.
Mbappé was not the only PSG influencer interested in the former Monaco player. New PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos was also keen on the midfielder.
Tchouaméni’s name came up a lot in Mbappé’s contract renewal with the Ligue 1 club.
The 22-year-old also had interest from Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool but decided to join Real Madrid.
He was officially unveiled as a new Madrid player on Tuesday.
