Atlético Madrid are interested in signing Guido Rodríguez from Real Betis, report AS.
Los Colchoneros are looking to rebuild their squad for next autumn as they are set to finish one of their worst seasons in the last 10 years.
The Rojiblanco club have identified Guido Rodríguez as one of the players they want to sign next summer to bolster their midfield. The Argentine player’s contract is set to expire in June 2024 at the Estadio Benito Villamarín and Atlético Madrid hope that they can sign him on the cheap come this summer.
Los Verdiblancos’ president Ángel Haro revealed that the club are working on extending Guido Rodríguez’s deal:
“What I can say is that we are very happy with his performance at Betis. He has very little time left on his contract and we are talking to him, we would like to extend his contract and that’s where we are.”
With interest from around Europe, a new contract would mean that Real Betis could potentially put a higher price tag on the 28-year-old in the summer transfer window.
