Yannick Carrasco’s future looks uncertain

While Atlético Madrid and Barcelona have an agreement in place valued at €20m regarding the transfer of Yannick Carrasco next summer, it remains uncertain whether the Blaugrana will want him come June, report AS.

In the space of a year, the 29-year-old went from being an indispensable member of Diego Simeone’s squad to not even starting regularly. Despite being a crucial member of the team that won La Liga in 2021, the Belgian winger has not scored since September and he has not started Los Colchoneros’ last three games.

Despite his contract being valid until June 2024, it remains very unlikely that he will stay at the Estadio Metropolitano beyond this season. However, if he continues his poor form, Barcelona may choose to pull out of the agreement made in January come next summer.

At the end of last year it was communicated that Carrasco has asked to leave Atlético Madrid due to a disagreement over his contract with the club’s board.
