Antoine Griezmann becomes Atlético Madrid’s third all-time top scorer

Antoine Griezmann has jumped up to third in the Atlético Madrid all-time top-scorer ranking, report AS.

The Frenchman scored a brace against Real Betis last night in the 11th round of La Liga at the Estadio Benito Villamarín. His second goal was his 147th for the club, which has allowed him to surpass Paco Campos in the all-time Atlético Madrid top-scorer rankings.

He only trails club legends Adrián Escudero and Luis Aragonés, who have scored 169 and 172 goals for Los Colchoneros respectively.

It is very unlikely that he would catch up with the two players ahead of him this season. However, there is the possibility that he could become Atlético Madrid’s all-time top scorer if he stays at the side beyond next summer.

Griezmann arrived to the Spanish capital in 2014 from Real Sociedad. He moved to Barcelona in 2019, but returned to Atléti in the summer of 2021.
