Andreas Christensen waiting for Barcelona move

Andreas Christensen (26) is set to become one of Barcelona’s first signings of the summer.

The Danish centre-back is waiting for Barça to solve their financial fair play problems before he can be registered and become a new Blaugrana player.

Last week, Chelsea confirmed that Christensen would not renew his contract and it is only a matter of time before the Dane joins the La Liga club.

Christensen spoke about the move after Denmark’s 2-0 Nations League win over Austria when asked when he would be able to name his new team.

“I hope I can soon. But I’ve known what I was going to do for a while now. I’m just waiting for the right moment. Unfortunately, not everything depends on me. There are also other things that have to fall into place. I want to keep quiet and say that we have to wait a bit longer,” said Christensen, as quoted by Danish newspaper BT via Mundo Deportivo, when asked about his possible arrival at Barça.

“Barça is one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I think it is for everyone, whether they have had their problems or not, it is still one of the biggest clubs a player can go to,” Christensen added.
