Ajax consider hiring Barcelona’s Jordi Cruyff to replace Marc Overmars

Mundo Deportivo report that Ajax are considering hiring Jordi Cruyff to replace Marc Overmars at the club.

Overmars recently resigned as the Dutch side’s director of football after the club announced he had sent “a series of inappropriate messages to several female colleagues over an extended period”.

The Dutch giants are considering Cruyff for the role due to his experience and knowledge in the transfer market. The Cruyff family has always been closely linked to Ajax because of the role Jordi’s father, Johan Cruyff, played as a player and manager.

Cruyff is currently part of the Barça technical team, where he works alongside Mateu Alemany, the director of football at Camp Nou. He has a contract with Barcelona until 30 June 2022.
