4 Barcelona stars labelled ‘non-transferrable’ under Hansi Flick

The imminent arrival of Hansi Flick on the bench at La Liga giants Barcelona spells positive news for four headline members of the club’s squad.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have today provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

German tactician Flick, of course, is expected to be unveiled as the latest installation on the Barcelona bench as soon as Wednesday.

From here, the former Bayern Munich boss will swiftly get to work on squad planning for next season, alongside sporting director Deco and his team.

Incomings will be front and centre on the agenda, with Flick no doubt eager to add his own touch to the Blaugrana XI.

But as significant will be sales, with Barca likely to be forced to bid farewell to several high-profile performers over the months ahead.

In the face of as much, however, four leading members of the first-team setup will, reportedly, be going absolutely nowhere.

As per the aforementioned MD, the quartet in question have been set aside as ‘non-transferable and essential to aspire for more in a project that does not want to shoot itself in the foot’.

Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araújo are the players named.

The former pair will come as little surprise, but Barcelona, and Flick, are said to envision major strides in performance on the part of both midfielder De Jong and stopper Araújo under new management, considered off the market as a result.

Though not directly mentioned in the report, youngsters Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí, too, will be going nowhere any time soon.
