Zinedine Zidane: “The victory over Celta Vigo was a complete performance.”

Speaking to Movistar after Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo on Saturday night, Zinedine Zidane admitted his side performed well on the night and deserved all three points.

We controlled the game very well. Defensively we were solid and we pressed high, it was a complete performance. We scored from a counter attack move and we controlled the game from that moment. We’re feeling good, even after slipping up versus Elche. You have to remember that opponents have good spells too but we’ve gone nine unbeaten, with six wins and three draws. I think everyone wants to play and then I’ve to choose. Marco [Asensio] and Lucas [Vázquez] are playing well but the success of the team is the group not just individuals. It’s not a head-to-head battle with Atlético for the league, it’s going to be an open title race.

Goalscorer Lucas Vázquez also gave his reaction to Movistar after the victory. “We wanted to be aggressive and press high. I think that every game we play is important. The team is going well and we’ll be fighting until the end. I’m very happy to score tonight. I’m playing a lot these days and really enjoying it. I think that LaLiga is very competitive and we will give it our all.”
