Speaking to Movistar after Real Madrid crashed out of the Champions League, head coach Zinedine Zidane gave his thoughts on a poor performance by his side.
“Chelsea deserved the win. We tried but they deserve to advance to the final. We can be very proud of ourselves and I’m very proud of my players. Chelsea played very well and we have to congratulate them.
“The first changes we made were Mendy and Vinicius because they had to work a lot in that area of the pitch. Chelsea had their chances. We had a couple too but you have to take your chances, that’s football.
“Now, we’re going to focus on what’s ahead in LaLiga. Tonight is tough to take, but we’ll prepare tomorrow for our next match.”
