Speaking to Movistar after Real Madrid were defeated 2-0 by Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night, former Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reacted to his team’s defeat.

“In the first half, we saw plenty of the ball. We didn’t create many chances and they went 1-0 in front. It got difficult after that. They were very compact and on the break they caused us a lot of trouble. We have to keep fighting though, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

We’ve now got to look ahead to Sevilla in LaLiga on Sunday. Chelsea are a very quick team when they counter attack, and they can do damage. It’s not easy getting to the Champions League final. Today just wasn’t our day. I wish Chelsea all the best in the final.”
